A Taoist Way to Build, Balance, and Refine Inner Power
The 10 Energy Centers:
In Taoist practice, energy is not something abstract. It is something you learn to feel, build, and stabilize inside the body. Over time, what begins as subtle awareness becomes structure, and what begins as practice becomes presence. This is why the work with the energy centers is so powerful. Rather than trying to awaken everything at once, it follows a natural progression. Each center has its own quality, its own function, and its own role in the larger energetic system. Some centers ground and strengthen the body. Others refine awareness. Others help organize, protect, and direct energy more intelligently. Taken together, they form a vertical map of development - from the deepest lower foundation all the way to subtle inner perception.

Each energy center can be charged through its own specific color frequency and further reinforced through color-specific clothing as a fast method to strengthen the same energetic resonance throughout the day. This creates a bridge between practice and ordinary life, allowing the body to keep absorbing and stabilizing the energy being cultivated.
At the base of the system is the White center in the perineum area. This is the foundational center, holding a cold, receptive force that must eventually be balanced with the hotter energy of the upper centers. It is called water energy because its nature is cooling, containing, and cleansing rather than expansive or fiery. In this system, it helps prepare the body by settling and purifying the lower field, supporting both energetic cleansing and the strength of the immune system. Before stronger activation can rise through the body, this lower white energy creates a stable base that cools and balances the system from below.
⚪ 1-Bottom White Water Energy
Above that foundation is the Red magnetic center. It corresponds to the lower Tan Tien - the body’s main center of grounding, stored force, and embodied power. This red center gives density and weight to the whole system, allowing energy to become tangible rather than vague. It is where energetic development becomes rooted in the body, creating steadiness, pull, and physical presence. When this center is strong, the system can hold more charge without becoming scattered, and the upper centers are less likely to become ungrounded.
🔴 2-Magnetic Energy - lower Tan Tien
The brown inflator navel center adds capacity. If magnetic energy gives weight, inflator energy gives volume. It helps the system hold more charge without becoming overloaded or unstable. This center is especially important because it supports expansion from within. It is less about sensation and more about containment. It helps create the internal space in which stronger energy can accumulate and remain steady.
🟤 3-Inflator Energy - Navel Center
The yellow or gold solar plexus center is the inner sun of the system. It relates to will, brightness, attractive power and abundance. It gives the body a sense of direction and strengthens the field from the center outward. This center also has a protective quality. It helps regulate what enters the system and supports a stronger energetic boundary. In that sense, it is both a power center and a stabilizing shield.
🟡 4-Solar Plexus Sun Energy
The lime green heart center opens the central field of warmth and radiance. This is where energy becomes more human, more relational, and more expansive. Instead of simply building force, the system begins to develop presence. Heart energy is not only about emotion. It is about the ability to carry warmth and coherence in the chest. It gives the energy body a more open and alive quality. At a certain point, the logic of the whole system becomes clearer: these centers are not separate techniques, but parts of one unfolding energetic architecture.
💚5-Heart Energy
⭐️For those who want to explore this path in a more guided and experiential way, Master Mantak Chia will be teaching this inner work in the Ancient Taoist Magic Workshop, available both live online with lifetime replay access and in Tao Garden Resort, Thailand on May 13-24, 2026.
The dark green left heart center is one of the most important points in the whole system. It is closely linked to activation, sensitivity, and inner ignition. If the central heart radiates, the left heart initiates.

This center plays a special role because it becomes a turning point between accumulation and movement. It is where the system begins to shift from simply charging energy to actually organizing it. In deeper practice, it becomes a key ignition point for balancing the whole field.
🟢 6-Left Heart Energy
The sky blue throat center brings articulation and release into the map. It is connected with expression, transmission, voice, and the movement of subtle force upward and outward. This center gives the system a way to communicate energy more clearly. It helps refine how force is released, directed, and expressed. In the larger flow of the body, it acts as a bridge between the heart field and the higher centers
🩵 7-Throat Energy
At the mid-eyebrow is the deep indigo blue soul center. This center brings inner depth, subtle awareness, and refinement. This is where the upper system becomes more spacious. Awareness feels less scattered and more gathered inwardly. The soul center adds depth to perception and helps the practitioner feel more internally continuous.
🔵 8-Soul Energy
At the top of the map on the forehead is the purple heaven eye center. This is the center of inner vision, intuition, and subtle perception. It sharpens awareness and concentrates it. The heaven eye is not something separate from the rest of the body. It develops best when the lower centers are already stable. In that way, perception is not floating above the body - it grows out of a balanced energetic structure.
💜 9-Heaven Eye Psychic Sense Energy
At the very top of the vertical axis is Crown Point, or Bai Hui. This is an upper gateway through which the body connects with the energy of Heaven. Rather than functioning like an ordinary center, Bai Hui serves as a point of opening, reception, and upward connection. It allows energy to rise and refine, while also receiving subtler currents from above. In that way, the Crown Point completes the system from above: the lower centers gather, ground, and stabilize, while Bai Hui opens the practitioner to a higher field of consciousness and energetic exchange.
🟣 10-The Crown Point or Bai Hui
When these 10 centers are viewed together, they reveal a very complete internal map. The lower centers build foundation, grounding, capacity, and structure. The middle centers open warmth, activation, and energetic coherence. The upper centers refine expression, deepen awareness, and sharpen perception.

One of the most beautiful things about this wisdom is that it gives energy work a clear logic. It is not random, and it is not only symbolic. It offers a progression: foundation below, perception above, and an increasingly coherent field in between. As the centers are developed, the body begins to feel less fragmented. Energy becomes more organized. Awareness becomes more stable. What once felt like separate inner experiences begins to form one connected current.
⬆️ A Complete Vertical System
If you feel called to go beyond reading and begin experiencing this work, the Ancient Taoist Magic Workshop offers a rare opportunity to learn these methods directly with Master Mantak Chia in a guided and progressive way.

This training held on May 13-24, 2026, is designed for practitioners who want to deepen their understanding of Taoist energy work, activate and refine the inner centers, and explore how the body’s energetic system can become stronger, clearer, and more integrated. Whether you choose to join live online from wherever you are in the world or immerse yourself in person in Thailand, the workshop opens the door to direct experience, energy transmission and authentic Taoist wisdom preserved through many generations of Tao Masters.
