When the physical body dies, the subtle body and soul continue their journey. The spirit state is a transitional condition after death, where the spirit may move toward another realm or search for a new place of rebirth.
Some spirits continue smoothly. Others remain close to the human plane. They may stay near the place where the body, ashes or memory remains. They may remain near old houses, burial grounds, ancestral places or emotionally charged locations.
This is one reason why certain places feel heavy or strangely alive.
A spirit in this state is not always what people call a “ghost.” There is a distinction between a spirit body moving through the reincarnation process and a ghostly presence that may become stuck, captured, weakened or attached to a location.
In this view, many spirits are not evil. They are just searching.
They are between worlds. Between memory and rebirth. Between the human plane and the next passage.

What Is a Spirit?
A living human being carries warmth, breath, emotion, blood, desire and Qi.
To a spirit without a physical body, human life-force can be attractive. This is why Taoist protection begins with the strength of the energy field. When the aura is strong, sealed and full of light, external forces do not easily enter. When the field is weak, scattered or full of energetic “holes,” the person may become more exposed to outside influences.
When the protective field is not active, environmental spirits may enter the body or organs. In Taoist language, this is not only a psychological condition but an energetic problem: the field has become open, and something from outside has crossed the boundary. This is why protection is not just a ritual.

Why Spirits May Come Close to Human Energy
In Taoist magic, the aura is not simply a glow around the body. It is a living energetic boundary. It can be weak or strong.
Open or sealed. Scattered or focused. Yin-dominant or yang-protected.
A white-yellow light field is a common energetic force field. Because it contains yellow light, it has some deflecting ability. But when the field shifts too much into yin mode, it may become easier to encounter ghosts and subtle presences. Not every light field protects equally.
A weak or unstable field may attract what it should repel. A field that is not properly charged may open the practitioner to impressions, presences or spiritual disturbances.
The Taoist path is not to become obsessed with ghosts. It is to become energetically complete enough that the field naturally holds its boundary.
The Energy Field: Your First Protection
Ghosts and spirits are often associated with yin dimensions, coldness, lack of physical body and absence of life-force. Yellow light creates a warmer, stronger, more yang field.
It does not simply “fight” the ghost.
It changes the energetic condition around the practitioner.

In Taoist magic, a curse is not treated only as a bad thought or emotional negativity. It may be understood as an energetic program carried by intention, sound, mantra, spirit force or another practitioner’s energy.
True magical work always requires energy. Without energy, witchcraft has no power - it remains empty intention. But when energy is present, intention becomes a living force.
